In this paper, the Mn mining Board Game Mattel New/Sealed residues from Amazon Region (Brazil) were proposed as low cost starting materials for synthesis of lithium manganese oxide.Thermal and hydrothermal treatments were used to convert the raw material into o-LiMnO2.The as-synthesized product was analyzed by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), Infrared spectroscopy (IR), Raman spectroscopy (RS), Thermogravimetry (TG) and Differential thermal analysis (DTA).
The results showed Educational Book that o-LiMnO2 was synthesized at 170 °C for 3 days, having the average particle size (Scherrer equation) around 55 nm.The spectroscopy studies (IR and RS) showed bands at 600 and 613 cm−1.Above 430 °C, o-LiMnO2 converted into LiMn2O4 and LiMnO3.
